“Sometimes you will never know the true value of a MOMENT until it becomes a memory” (author unknown). As we age, love and time becomes more precious so we reach out to people and places that touch our heart. My wife and I chose to return to Taormina Hotel Villa Ducale because our vacation last
September was filled with so many special moments and happy memories. We love this place because . . . -Staff: Owners, Andrea and Rosaria Quartucci are passionate about their guests and have trained a highly competent staff that exude warmth and hospitality. Paolo and Ajith, front desk managers, arranged trips for us to Gambino Vini, a fabulous winery on Mount Etna, a tour of the Archaeological Park - Sicily’s first Greek Settlement, Taormina’s Greek Theatre – most photographed site in Sicily, Castelmola, a quaint village high above Taormina with amazing views, Public Gardens, and reservations for not to miss restaurants. Special praise and hugs go to Alessia, Luana, Loredana, Satina, Milena, Serena, Ilie, Loris, Santi, Sagara, and Dylan. These individuals took care of us during breakfast, complementary tea and pastry at 4 pm, complementary hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour at 6 pm, dinner, housekeeping, and complementary transportation to Corso Umberto when we chose to dine out. -Bedroom: A beautiful chic room that was very spacious, immaculate, and tastefully furnished. It had a balcony, total privacy, and exquisite views of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna – took our breath away! -Breakfast: One of many highlights of our stay. We enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast that included homemade, sweet and savory items - bacon, eggs made to order, several types of cheese, eggplant, roasted peppers, stuffed tomato, meat, veggies, delicious crusty bread, cereal, various kinds of fruit, pies, Prosecco, coffee, tea, cappuccino, and fruit juice – a Sicilian feast – yummy. Location: Hands down - best place to stay in Sicily. Peaceful and relaxing with views to die for. It really makes you feel like you are on vacation. There is no need to rent a car or use a taxi unless you are touring Sicily. The hotel provides complementary shuttle service to town and back – about a five minute drive. Guests have privileges to visit Villa Carlotta, their gorgeous sister hotel with a beautiful pool and outdoor garden patio. You can order pizza, sandwiches, and drinks while you relax by the pool or enjoy the lovely grounds, lemon trees, and flowers. They also offer cooking classes at the hotel – a highlight of our stay last year.
