This Is How You Do It

This is the best small hotel accom we have ever stayed in. It all came down to the staff and the vibe they have created. We found a stark difference in service everywhere we went in Italy for our 2 weeks trip (Rome, Florence, Sienna, Sicily). It was a welcome relief to have staff who were relaxed, friendly and both cared about their hotel and for their guests.

Taormina is a cheesy tourist town, so it was great to be set in the hills above, away from the crowds. The view from the terrace, where great food for breakfast and dinner was served, is amazing. The view stretches down the coast, over to Etna and is just amazing, rain, hail or shine. The staff recommended a bunch of restaurants all of which were fantastic (but have to say the dinner we had on the terrace was top-notch) and we took the free shuttle, which makes being away from the town without a car hassle free.

The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The property itself is beautiful and you can see that thought has gone into every aspect. Whoever styled the hotel did so without overdoing it and staying true to the building and the areas heritage.

This is not a big hotel experience, so if you are looking for anonymous service, day spas and the banality that comes with resort style hotels, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a intimate, comfortable, stylish hotel, where the staff care and there is a relaxed atmosphere, this is the one for you.
